COVERING THE SCIENCE, BUSINESS, AND POLITICS OF WOMEN'S HEALTH. DAILY.

It was great to be back this week, and I've been listening to podcasts like crazy to catch up. That's why this weekend I'm highlighting two I've really liked:

First is season 2 of The Retrievals from the New York Times, which follows a labor and delivery nurse who becomes the patient—then feels *everything* during her C-section. It’s a continuation on an all-to-common theme in women's health: the systemic failure to treat women’s pain. (Plus those trying to fix it!)

I'm also enjoying Chuck Todd’s new podcast. It opens with a lot of US politics, but he also does in-depth interviews with people who often don't get to talk longform. In the past few weeks that includes the directors of a new Ms. Magazine doc and Rep. Brittany Pettersen, who fought for proxy voting so new moms in Congress could recover without losing their voice.

As always, our top clicked stories are below.  This week we covered everything from vaccine skepticism among pregnant women to how sleep issues can predict heart disease.
